Drumming stuff today
Rhythmically speaking, this is probably the wierdest exercise I have ever written.

Here is the snare part (the other parts will come later today) if you are interested in learning it. It’s actually a really fun exercise. It’s loosely a paradiddle building thing with the wierdest (and coolest) groove I could think of. It’s book ended by huge roll patterns. My favorite part of the exercise is the 2 height stuff towards the beginning. It establishes a definte pattern that an audience can get into and then destroys it with the quarter note triplet stuff. Of course your audience will forgive you for fucking with their heads when you give them the laid back 3 against 4 groove later in the piece. All you drummers out there that read my blog please give me your comments.
Thanks for your time.
