I let the cat out of the bag!!!
I was not thinking clearly as my brother had come in to town to celebrate his birthday. I had quite a bit to drink and I casually let it slip that Alyssa is pregnant. Yup, it’s true. I am going to be a father. It’s pretty wild but I am very excited. We have actually been holding on to this secret since Alyssa broke her leg. Since she had to go into surgery there was the possibility that she could miscarry so we decided not to tell anyone until we got the first ultrasound and knew that the baby was ok.
Speaking of which, the ultrasound was a wild experience. We were expecting to see a picture but we were both totally floored to see the heart beating! It was an unbelieveable moment and right then and there it became very real for the both of us that we are going to be parents.
Anyway attached to this post is our very first (of thousands to come for sure) baby photo. It (too early to know gender) has a very big head (in my opinion) and has arm and leg buds you can clearly make out. This photo is from 2 months in. Wish us luck!

Yeah I think it looks like a teddy bear. I think it has a little bit of a tail too.
When I saw the heart beat a little tear started to form in the corner of my eye. It is an amazing experience.

Well well well, the secret is out!
You must be over excited/over worked because your naming convention for the picture files is horrible!
Picture.jpg!
THIS IS YOUR FIRST CHILD!
I think you can do better than Picture.jpg.
I have already started documenting this baby as I know you are going to. Anything you post is here being saved to the ol’ hard drive. Please in the future think of better names. Something along the lines of baby1.jpg, or perhaps the date the pic was taken as the file name.
When this kid is older, i’m totally telling the child the story about this first pic posted on your blog. I’ll be like your name was going to be Picture.jpg, luckily uncle joe came in and helped you out.
