The Musings of The Music Man

A simple question

So I was thinking about this today and I was wondering what everyone’s opinion is on it.

Lys and I went grocery shopping today and on the way back we’re talking about criticism. Not constructive (though I think it does apply), but really more of insults. I am of the idea that no matter what the context, criticism is ALWAYS an expression of inadequacy projected onto that person. In other words, that insult you are hurling is always the result of some deep rooted connection to it, whether it be jealousy or malice or whatever. You are connected to those words in some [profound] way. Anyway, I would go into more detail but I would like to hear from the peanut gallery so please, leave a comment and let me know your thoughts.

I’m a crazy person, so I can’t take criticism for shit. You tell me something about myself and I freak out!
Though Jesus would tell you different, he says i’m the hardest person to make fun of cause I always agrees with what he has to say about me. I don’t know im fuckin’ weird. i take criticism as an attack, sometimes i go as far as going red neck and ill take criticism and punch someone in the face instead of saying something back. lololol ok yeah get more into detail now.

I totally agree with you, Christ-He-Foo. If I’m the recipient of insulting criticism, it bites at first. Over time, I take into account the source of the criticism and realize it is that person’s perspective, based on their own shit, their own filters, their interpretations, their lack of tact, etc. Then, I question, “Why did they insult me?” Usually, the answer I come up with points right back to them. If I am the one hurling the criticism, which I try not to do, but if I do, it IS because of some deep-seated mind-mess of my own.
