The Musings of The Music Man

Spoiling the ending (but you’ll thank me for it)

[Listening to: Eriatarka - South High Rebel Drumline - The Death Of Julio Venegas (1:30)]

So as you can see above, I am listening to Eriatarka from the upcoming winter season show entitled “The Death of Julio Venegas.” I have stated before the songs that are involved in our show. Listed here again for reference:
Son Et Lumiere
Roulette Dares (the haunt of)
Tira me a las arañas
Drunkship of Lanterns
Eriatarka
Televators

I have just stumbled across a great way to end the show and incorporate Eriatarka. You may listen to it here.

Imagine the last huge crashes of Drunkship of Lanterns ringing still, the audience going nuts with applause after our “around the rack” drum feature. As the crashes are slowly dying out, the beginning strains of Eriatarka begins and as the audience notices that the show is going on the narrator comes in again pontificating about the nature of life and death and what would cause someone to ultimately succumb to his inner demons. Art (playing the part of Julio Venegas) appears atop the far left backdrop. The only thing that would free our tortured artist from that which harms him is death itself. And as Art falls from the top of backdrop, the fading music ends with one last ringing bell note in which the rest of the battery (playing the part of Julio’s inner demons) would fall to the ground, dying as Julio is no longer sustaining their lives.
