Why all the excess?
I know I am WAY late to the game on this one but every time I think about it I just get infuriated.
Anyway, I was just reading the last print version of PC Magazine (they are switching to all digital version now) and it has reviews of the newest Mac Book, the fancy one with the all aluminum body. The tagline is beautiful design comes at a price” or some shit like that. I was thinking, “what, is this a $1000 laptop or something?” Silly me, being not up to current standard with Apple pricing, imagine my surprise when I read that it’s actually a $1600 laptop!!!! WTF!!!
Seriously in this day and age, why all the fuckin excess!!! Seriously, why would you buy a Mac other than an insane desire to “keep up with the jonz (mis-spelled purposely)?” It’s a computer, it’s a fucking tool. I have a laptop that will still whoop the new Macbook’s ASS in performance that cost me $600. Seriously, less than half…actually almost a third of what this laptop costs. Okay, so it has windows (my choosing since it actually came pre-installed with Linux) on it. Guess what? I CAN LOAD OSX ON IT (or whatever version number naming scheme they are up to nowadays…snow leopard I think)!!!!!!!! If you are wondering about laptop quality…I bought a Lenovo laptop (previously IBM). They have only been in the business of making computers FOREVER and consistently have the most reliable and highest rated computers ON THE FUCKING PLANET! I didn’t get some piece of shit laptop.
For me to actually purchase an Apple laptop is definitely me purchasing a lifestyle…I might as well go out and buy a Lexus SUV, get a house that I can’t afford, buy my clothes at Saks 5th Avenue, and drink Starbucks all fuckin day long! Seriously a $1600 laptop…how can you justify that? Don’t give me that bullshit about content creation because the big content creation company, Adobe, stopped making software for Apple. Sure theres Final Cut Pro, but I can always just load up OSX on my lappy and again, I still have a laptop that kills the performance of Mac.
Sorry Mac fans, time to give it up and sell that Lexus.
