Even though I pose it as a question there actually are a lot of really great bands in Bakersfield. Once you get past the teenage addiction to metal (ugh!!) you run into a lot of great indie music as well as funk and dare I say it, Country. So as a taste here is a bakersfield band from back when I was in high school. Way back when you had to distribute your music on a cassette tape cause home CD recording was for the wealthy early adopters. Anyway, this is a digital transfer from a cassette so excuse the noise and dropouts.

My favorite would have to be the second track although they are all very good.
