What you can control…
lately, I only feel like I can do what I can control…which for the past 8 months, the only thing I can control is my running. And I feel good about it. This is the 1st month since the LA Marathon that I have been able to run like a regular person. My ITBS in my right leg has not returned and has been minimal in the left leg. At times, since the marathon, it has been hard. Harder than I remember it ever being. I have another marathon now to train for and I cant wait for the 1st month. The 1st month of beginning training is relatively easy. 3 mile short runs, 5-6 miles long runs. It’s stuff that is remarkably pedestrian for me. And I want someone badly to train with me, but I can’t force anyone.
At any rate…the best advice given to me lately was….”when in doubt, run it out” and that is precisely what I did this evening. 8 miles and no running injuries.
