Back to recording!!!!!
It’s been quite a while since I have recorded anything. And the great thing is that I have cool new material. See, for a while I had been pretty uninspired. I haven’t actually picked up a guitar in 2 months. I re-recorded some old material a while ago but I just wasn’t that into it. I think it must have been the Renegade influence. Too much marching percussion. Yes, even I have my limits. Anyway, I pulled out Nacho’s trusty guitar, which he so graciously gave to me

I put some pretty new strings on it and started noodling around. I played around with the song Everlong by the Foo Fighters and I think I might record a wierd cover of the song. But of course I needed some new material for recording as well. So out comes the headphones and the mixer…

Note the beer bottle on the floor. For inspiration of course Anyway, I start playing a variation on a Bessemer Process song of mine that we never finished. I never really wanted to play it live since to me it sounded too much like an old At The Drive In song (defunct see: Sparta or The Mars Volta). Well, after taking out the trusty ole Zoom 505 effects pedal (thank you so very much Alyssa), I throw some slight dynamic distortion and some delay/echo on the signal and the song suddenly comes alive as very dark melancholy piece. In my quest for new sound and my own personal “style” I will probably add some keyboard/synth stuff to it. Just some tasteful drone notes but I think it will work out. At any rate, I have my work cut out for me for the next couple weeks. I plan on finishing up the song before I move on to my Everlong cover. After that, well see were it takes me.
