A big pile of money…

So now for the back story…
So last week, Alyssa and I were out of bottled water and soda and so we decided to go the grocery store to pick up some up. Along the way, we hit the gas station since we are running somewhat low. So as I place my debit card in the slider like I always do I get an error. “GO SEE CASHIER” is displayed prominently on the pump in those characteristic square computer letters. So I head inside and try to use and the cashier says that machine isn’t taking it. So I hit the ATM machine in the store and try to just withdrawl cash. Again I am frustrated to see the machine telling me “NO MOTHERFUCKIN MONEY FOR YOU BEEYOTCH!!!!”
So dejected and strapped for cash, we return home and I immediately go online and check out the online banking portion of the B of A website. Imagine my surprise to find that when I try to log in that the website tells me that there is no such account open. WHAT THE FUCK!!!!!
Now I immediately get on the phone and call B of A to try and find out what the hell happened. They tell me that the account was closed cause apparently Alyssa (the secondary on the account) for some reason cannot have a bank account, and since we were on a joint account, the whole thing just fucking crashed. So they tell me they have already closed the account (without fucking telling me one word) and that they are sending me a check for the remaining balance. However the trouble comes later when we realize that Alyssa gets direct deposit to this (closed) account.
So this Monday was payday for Alyssa and in the past week Lys has been trying like a madwoman to get a hold of the payroll dept so they don’t deposit her money into a closed account. So Lys gets a message today that here paycheck went through and that the money is sitting in the bank as we speak. What The Fuck!!! How can money be sitting in a closed bank account? So I hop into the car to sort out the whole mess.
At the bank, the woman at the front door was trying to direct me to the right person to talk with. I explain the whole story and she tells me that the money probably just back to the payroll department back at LAUSD. I calmly explain to her that this not possible since the payroll dept. has already told us that money has exchanged hand (so to speak) and that the even confirmed that the bank has the money. Anyway, I finally give up on talking to her and just wait for a bank agent to talk to.
The bank agent told me that the money is indeed in the account and that the account is open. WTF!!! He explains that in this particular situation a direct deposit would reopen the account. However it got flagged again for closure right afterward. This guy tells me that the actual reason for closure was Abuse/Fraud. Meaning, they are investigating the account to see whether someone was accessing my account without my permission. Have I been hacked??? A little worrisome indeed but luckily, I review the account info daily and I didn’t see any unauthorized purchases. Nonetheless, they still have closed the account pending further information and investigation. So they emptied the account and gave me all the money in it. As I have not yet picked a new bank to deposit the money into, I have all the money at my house and Lys gave me the idea of taking a picture to remember the occasion when it looked like we were drug dealers.
